In case you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard all of the buzz going on about the VERY soon to be released EZ LYNK Auto Agent for 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke (with more applications on the way), let us take a few minutes to fill you in on why this new tuning and diagnostic device is making massive waves throughout the automotive industry.  First, lets cover the basics and what in the world an EZ LYNK is.  In short, this is a device that plugs into your vehicle’s OBDII diagnostic port under the dash that reads data and transmits that data to your smartphone via a downloadable app.  EZ-LYNKFurther, this information is able to be shared through a cloud based server so that it can also be accessed remotely.  What does this mean?  You know those annoying times when your vehicle is acting up and you have to schedule an appointment with your repair facility a week out, only to have your vehicle act completely normal by the time you get it in?  That’s a thing of the past as technicians can remotely access your vehicle’s computers, and even provide an update to the ECM, having the ability to flash your vehicle from half way around the globe.

But wait, did we say flash?!  Yes, this is the substantially more exciting part, as the Auto Agent can also store tunes from your preferred tuning company in order to unlock the power potential of your vehicle.  And for anyone that has ever owned any type of performance programming device is also probably aware of the typical updates that are released by the manufacturers in which they recommend you to update your tuning device to.  In doing so, this requires you to return your vehicle to stock, then plug your programmer into a computer, download the new tunes onto your programmer, then reload those tunes into your vehicle.  While this isn’t the end of the world by any means, its time consuming and does go forgotten many times.  With the Auto Agent, this is all done automatically anytime your vehicle is within WiFi access.  Basically, you park your truck in the garage for the night, and your home’s WiFi will allow it to automatically update if there is one available.  Or, lets say that the out-of-the-box tunes that you originally received need some tweaking because you’ve installed a larger turbo, injectors, whatever.  With other tuning devices, the tuning company is going to be required to send you files via e-mail and you repeat the same process as for any update.  With the Auto Agent, the tuning company can merely load the files right in without you having to do a thing. EZ-LYNK-4

Now that everyone’s excited, the big question is……will this work in my truck?  As of today, the Auto Agent alone will work in nearly any vehicle with an OBDII port for diagnostic purposes.  But for anyone wanting to use this device to store custom tunes, the current offering is for the mighty 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke, with many more applications on the way.  And whom better to provide the tunes than the man, the myth, the tuning legend, Kory Willis of Power Performance Enterprises, Inc. (PPEI).  Kory has been tuning anything with an engine since he was knee high to a grass hopper, and has always specialized in diesel engines.  His company is literally a household name in the diesel industry and because of this, we can’t think of a better, more reputable company to go with for tuning the EZ LYNK.  Further, Kory and his team had early access to this device before anyone else, thus has been able to gain a better understanding of its potential ahead of the competition.

Overall, if you’re the proud owner of a 6.7L Powerstroke, you need this in your life.  Whether your truck is currently stock or you’ve already made upgrades, expect increased power, fuel economy, and the diagnostics and updating process simplified beyond what anyone previously knew as possible.  We live in the age of technology, why not have a tuner that lives up to your expectations?

  1. How do you return your truck back to stock. I’m thinking bout buying a new truck and want to transfer the program how would you do that and I’m goin from ford power stroke to dodge Cummings

    1. You will absolutely have the ability to return the vehicle back to stock. That should be in the tune section of the tuner. Right now though, they have not released the tuning for the Cummins. So as of now, that tuner will not work on a Cummins.

    2. I have a 2016 Silverado diesel and your ezlynk tunes on it for pulling purposes only. How do I go back to my stock tunes.
Have not updated anything else all other stuff is still stock except for my exhaust. Ant get tunes though to switch back.

      1. Hi there. If you open up the EZ LYNK App on your phone or tablet, presuming you’ve linked the unit and still have the Auto Agent module in the vehicle and plugged into the OBDII connector, there should be a Return to Stock option when you go to the downloads screen. Depending on the type of exhaust you have, you may be required to have some type of tuning in the vehicle, however. Feel free to give us a call to confirm exactly how your truck is setup and anything you may need. 888-99-DIESEL.

  2. So I went from a Mini Maxx to EZLynk and let me say that while the tunes are decent, the connectivity of this unit is CRAP. Most of the time it doesn’t even put out a wifi signal so that I can hook up to it. I made sure to have all software and firmware updated and my iPhone 7 updated also. Still crap, worst thing for tuning. Another bad detail is that when the EZLynk module isn’t connected, it reverts to the lowest power setting. I tried to run an Edge CTS2 because the connectivity was so poor and then I found out about the default power level. Wasted a total of about $1700. Absolutely would not recommend this item to anyone under any circumstance

  3. So if I was to purchase the device for $499 does it come with default tunes? Or will I have to pay the additional $500 to $600 for the tunes? I am kind of confused on how this works.

    1. Good question. If you were to purchase the Auto Agent by itself for $499, it will only act as a monitor, as it does not include tunes of any kind. Some will purchase the Auto Agent to get a feel for how it works and what it can monitor, then when they’re ready, upgrade it by linking the device to a tuning company that offers tuning packages for use with EZ LYNK. Hopefully this clarifies your question. Please let us know if you have any others.

  4. I wish I could get a tune that has the stock shift points in it. Not crazy the way it shifts. 2014 f250.

    1. You can definitely have a tune built by numerous tuning companies with stock transmission tuning where they don’t specifically alter the line pressure or shift points directly. That said, the 6R140 is an adaptive learning transmission, so basically it sees increases in power, pedal input, boost, etc. and will dynamically alter the shifting characteristics to meet the new inputs, at least to a certain point. We’ve found that the higher the power and the harder you drive the truck, typically the more aggressive the shifts will be. That said, especially after a fresh tune is loaded and the transmission is starting to learn, the shift points in some instances can honestly be REALLY bad, but they figure themselves out after several hundred miles of driving at most.

    1. Hi there, P01C6 is a fault of the Fuel Rail Temp Sensor A Circuit High. This is typically associated with those using EZ LYNK and one of their Shift On The Fly (SOTF) switches that plugs or hard wires into this circuit under the hood. Initially, EZ LYNK was able to SOTF directly through the OBDII port under the dash, however, later changed to this method. If provisions within the tuning do not support the under-the-hood style of SOTF, but that sensor is unplugged and wired to the switch, the ECM will trigger this check engine light. For most, the remedy is to contact the company which made the tune associated to your EZ LYNK and update the file to properly support this SOTF switch method.

  5. I bought a 2015 6.7 powerstroke recently deleted with ez lynk the guy said its has tunes that can be change how do I know if it will actually work? It has a GDP soft switch with it but not installed so I installed it and it does absolutely nothing but throw a low fuel pressure code.

    1. The first thing to do if you haven’t done so already is install the EZ LYNK app and get connected to the truck. Then, within the app, you’ll be able to see which tune versions are installed on the truck, and typically they are named as “SOTF” or something to indicate they are indeed Shift On The Fly tunes, and not just standalone single tunes. Depending on the age of the tunes, they could actually be the original version that allowed you to switch tunes from within the App itself, on your phone, at which point, installing the switch to the fuel heater wires would probably cause your issues because the tune isn’t telling the truck to disregard that sensor being tied into. As far as telling if its switching tunes, again, if you have the App, it’ll display which power level you’re on, or you can also use an ohm meter to see if the voltage changes as you change power levels. If its not, then you just need to make sure you’ve got a good connection to the fuel heater. Overall, my guess would be that you’re not running the current SOTF tunes, causing the truck to not change power levels and your check engine light. Once you get the App setup on your phone, you’ll be able to update the tunes within the App and be on your way.
