Cummins scored high points with J.D. Power and Associates this year.

According to the J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Medium-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Customer Satifaction Study, Cummins scored 763 out of 1000 points.

This review, the fourth annual by J.D. Power and Associates, measures 8 things:  engine reliability, control module, vibration while idle, ease of access for maintenance, acceleration, warranty of engine, maintaining speed on grades, and average fuel economy.

This year’s review determined that diesel truck owners are most satisfied with the dependability and reliability of their engines.  The study also revealed a 26% drop in issues reported by diesel truck owners from 2007 to 2011.

Cummins scored below only one other diesel engine in the report.
